Thanks gents,
Best to steer clear of those, I don't want to compromise safety.

Factory Cosworth Alloys question
Hi all, I am looking to buy a second set of standard 16 inch Cosworth alloys to refurbish while they are readily available and quite cheap. However, I understand many have been modified to fit VW camper vans. I understand from Google searches that the wheels require drilling the wheelnut holes or ce...

Re: Power Steering Pump Rebuild
No Bob, I haven't found a kit yet, there are places which you can send your pump off to be reconditioned, but I do not know any of them. I have found some new ones cheaper than Motomobil, with stock, even on e-Bay. Part numbers appear to be: 86GB3A674EA - which is a Sierra part, but looks similar, a...

Re: Power Steering Pump Rebuild
Hi Bob, No it has just been a bit hectic, & I haven't used the old girl fpr a couple of months now, and sometimes the enthusiasm waxes and wanes, but it is back now. So when I was searching on the Web, I found the company name who made the pumps - Saginaw. they also supplied pontiac and Chevrole...

Re: Power Steering Pump Rebuild
Hi Bob, It was Jay Gee Steering Seals in Wolverhampton I bought it from, but als they are no longer trading. It was five years ago… Anyway, if memory serves I found the kit via the pump manufaturer whose name is on the pump casting (perhaps with a number) not a Ford part number - it is an American c...

Re: Fuel Filler Neck - Rubber Seals
Hello Bob, Trust you are well. I have not been on the site for a while or I could have helped, sorry. The filler neck shroud does come out the hole - there is a thread on the site - may be the old yellow and grey livery site - somewhere. You have to twist it either clock or anti-clock wise as you pu...

Re: Sunroof Issues - Help
Hi Bob, Trust you received my response to your PM. Just thought of it, if the website I sent you for that German spares shop can't help, perhaps worth joining the 'Bug eye' Scorpio site too. Quite a few parts - especially the body between the Á' and 'D' pillars, and interior trim - are interchangeab...

Re: Granada Cosworth Springs and Shocks
Yep, 225/50/16s are fine, I have run them for years, the std alloys at 6.5J are just fine - the 'bug eye' Scorpio Cosworth takes this tyre size as std anyway. They go a long way to address the undertyred 'shopping trolley' look our cars suffer from, especially the hatchback, the std 205/50s look pos...

Re: Granada Cosworth Springs and Shocks
Hi Bob, haven't been on the site for a while. Received your sunroof PM (will respond to that separately) Rideheight is determined by the springs, unless you go for adjustable coilovers, which will sort your grounding issue but they are expensive - I believe some years ago someone on this site had so...

Re: Granada Cosworth Discs
Yes, I haven't had a PM from you since the ECU one. Anyway, for the idle pypass hose, I just bought 1/2 a metre length of 13mm I.D. silicone vcuum hose, cut it to the original hose length & inserted a long flexible compression spring to stop it from collapsing as it twists & winds its way ar...

Re: My Cosworth and work done to it in the last 5 years
It is nice Bob, you have done more to yours than I have done on mine. I did try those slimline wipers once, but I didn't get on with them personally... I have a proper respray on my list as well, but I want a 10 grand sprayjob - complete strip & chemical dip, etc... One day... A labour of love, ...

Re: Granada Cosworth Discs
Hi Bob,
I just bought some, 109 pounds for the pair, Mapco is the brand. They are UK advertised, but came from Germany.
I often find Germany to be a good source of parts for our model.
Just bear in mind it is called the 'Scorpio 1' over there, not Granada.

Re: Wheel alignment - what is the correct Toe-in?
Hi Bob, I saw it. Thank you, I shall bear that in mind when it is time to do them again - & they will need doing because they are the softest part in the setup now with the rest all poly bushes, they will flex more I did the hanger a few years ago, & before I fitted it, I stuffed it flush fu...

Re: I am back and Cosworth on the road again
Hi Bob, sorry to hear you are still poorly. The Ecu's on these Fords are pretty much bullitproof, there are 3 'different' types for them; BAAY, BABY & BACY - during my poor running saga I ended up having bought one of each, but it made no difference from one ECU to the other. Of course my car's ...

Re: Bits & bobs I have done over the years
Thanks Hepburn, Next is a front suspension overhaul - it is in the garage at the moment being done, not doing this myself, though I have done in the past, but work in London everyday now, so don't have the inclination. Track rod ends, inner track rods, & track control arms, with my poly bushes s...
